ILLUMINATE YOUR EVENT

Lighting is one of the most versatile AV production elements, and it has the power to set the mood, tone, and energy level of your event. Whether you are hosting a high-energy event or want to create a more memorable audience experience, lighting design can customize your lighting in a creative way that will dazzle and entertain.

When your run of show calls for specific lighting cue changes throughout your event, it’s time to start thinking about investing in lighting design. You can easily change the look and feel of your next event with moving lights, LED uplights, or custom gobo patterns to create an exciting light show.

CREATE ANY LIGHTING ATMOSPHERE YOU WANT

The way that you light your event goes beyond simply making sure that everyone can see what is happening on stage. By effectively lighting your event you can create a specific mood or atmosphere, ranging from elegance to high-energy.

There are many ways to create stunning lighting effects. After audio and video specifications, your event lighting is the next step that will really enhance the production value of your event. You can make a dramatic impact with lighting, whether that’s simply dimming and brightening the lights throughout the night or creating exciting effects whenever a presenter walks up to the stage.

Here are a few different types of lighting that can set the scene for your next event:

  • Podium special lights to highlight the presenter at the podium
  • Panel lighting
  • Backlighting
  • Scenic pipe and drape lights
  • LED uplights
  • Gobo lights to create large patterns and effects
  • Moving lights

LIGHTING DESIGN FAQS

AT WHAT POINT DO I NEED TO EMPLOY THE USE OF A LIGHTING DESIGNER? DO I NEED THAT FOR A BASIC STAGE WASH?

We usually recommend employing a lighting designer when you’re working with moving lights or higher-end instruments, or if you have different lighting zones or multiple lighting cues. A lighting designer can properly draw out all of those zones, figure out the proper lensing, and understand how those lights are going to be arranged. This will result in less risk during your event.

If, however, you are planning on using a basic stage wash that doesn’t change much throughout the event, you will most likely be fine without a lighting designer. Feel free to contact us for more information and we can help you determine whether you need a lighting designer for your event.

WHAT TYPES OF INSTRUMENTS DOES A LIGHTING DESIGNER CONTROL?

The lighting designer controls everything that produces light at the event. This can include the stage wash, ellipsoidals, Source Four PARS, LED uplights, wash lights, intelligent lights such as spots, and the lighting board.

WHAT TYPE OF EFFECTS CAN BE CREATED WITH LIGHTING DESIGN?

Lighting design can create a number of dramatic effects. From basic stage washes and backlighting to custom gobos and moving lights, the types of instruments you choose to light your event can create cool motion effects, colors and patterns at a lower price point than other AV solutions.

WHAT DOES PROPER LIGHTING DESIGN LOOK LIKE?

Proper lighting design effectively highlights all presenters and scenic pieces in order to enhance the appearance of the stage or venue while evoking a desired mood. Your lighting can help you to get a lot of mileage out of your stage or other scenic pieces by changing the look and feel through the use of changing colors and special effects.
