QUALITY VIDEO RECORDING FOR EVENT CAPTURING

Video cameras are devices that capture video during an event. The video can either be displayed live on the main screens, shared to a webcast, or simply recorded for future use. There are different types of cameras for different purposes, and the quality of your recording will depend on the quality of your video camera.

ESSENTIAL CAMERA EQUIPMENT

Video cameras are essential for documenting and broadcasting events. Here are a few of the most common uses for recording video:

  • IMAG: Image magnification is a large-scale video projection of the presenter on stage. By recording the speaker or performer and displaying a high-quality image on the screen, every member of the audience will be able to see the presenter’s face. Even the people in the back can see details like gestures and facial expressions, enabling everyone to have the same experience.
  • Archiving: Video cameras can record your presentation or event to relive it at a later date. Once you have a professional recording, you can edit it into a video to be used for marketing purposes, as a keepsake for event attendees, or as a way for people who were unable to attend the event to experience it on some level. Performances, awards ceremonies, and keynote speakers are all great moments to archive.
  • Live streaming: Expand your audience by making the event available to additional people all over the world. By streaming your event online, you can make an impression on a larger audience by eliminating the need for travel to a live event.

VIDEO CAMERAS FAQS

HOW MANY VIDEO CAMERAS DO I NEED IN A ROOM?

The number of video cameras needed will depend on the purpose of your recording. If you are recording simply for archival purposes, one camera will be enough. However, if you’d like to do a live stream, or create a video to sell or use for training or marketing purposes, then you’ll want to have at least two cameras to allow for different angles. Just placing one camera in the back of the room for a wide shot and one at the side of the room to catch a profile shot will make your video much more interesting. You can easily switch between the two angles in post-production or during a live switch to showcase a more dynamic feel of the event.

WHAT OTHER EQUIPMENT DO I NEED IN ADDITION TO A CAMERA?

There are many accessories that will improve the quality of your recording. You can consider using a tripod, camera switch, main switcher, audio equipment, lighting, lenses, filters, and a dedicated camera operator.
It is also extremely important to invest in backup equipment. Make sure that when you’re working with your AV consultant that you have backup cameras or a backup live streaming device. You only really get one shot at recording, so you want to make sure you have redundancies in your equipment in the unlikely event that something may fail.
